In this 90-minute class, Vicki and Linda will take you on a journey of mind and body through carefully selected Yin postures accompanied by robust and harmonious music played on crystal bowls and more. This session will take the idea of “Yin Yoga and Meditation” to a new level as Linda guides you through a Yin practice while Vicki plays meditative sounds giving your body and mind the nourishment it needs in our fast-paced world.
Yin yoga is a floor-based practice emphasizing stillness and receptivity to balance and harmonize the body and mind. Passive, static postures are held with relaxed muscles and the support of yoga props to gently and safely stimulate the connective tissue around muscles and joints promoting their health, strength, and vitality. The still and meditative nature of Yin yoga also stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system creating a restful inner state in the body and mind.
No experience is necessary.
Yin and Yoga Nidra Chakra Series
February
Join Anita in a curated Chakra Series. Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues and involves a series of passive floor poses that are held for 3-5 minutes. Chakras or energy centers correspond to specific areas in the body and when in balance promote health and well being.
This series will be broken down into targeting each energy center in the body and will work to open and promote flexibility of ligaments. It will end with Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation which will encourage a deeper exploration of body, senses and mind allowing for a nervous system reset and deep relaxation.
We will be exploring the Sacral chakra (Svadhisthana chakra in Sanskrit). The sacral chakra is associated with a sense of self. When in balance emotions can flow freely there is a boost in creativity, confidence, and manifested desire.
